WHAT TO EXPECT

We know that choosing a church family can be a tough decision. You may be looking to find a place to develop lifelong friendships and relationships. Perhaps you’re searching for a place where you can hear biblically-relevant messages that offer real-life application. Maybe you are looking for a church that has ministries for everyone in your family. Whatever your reason, we believe we can be an encouragement to you and your entire family no matter where you find yourself in life's journey. If you are looking for a church family, join us for one of our dynamic worship services and/or Bible studies. We look forward to meeting you.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE ON CAMPUS . . .

. . . You can enter through the double doors in the west wing (near the Jefferson Road entrance), the doors of the sanctuary (near West Friendly Avenue), or the double doors on the north side of the Ministry Center (near Gaines Drive).  Once inside, you will be welcomed by our greeters.  If you are looking for worship services, they will direct you to the Worship Center (8:15/10:45 a.m. Traditional Services) or to the Multi-Purpose Room in the Ministry Center (10:45 a.m. Contemporary Service).  If you arrive for Sunday School, they will show you to an adult Sunday School classroom or to our student/children’s ministry areas, depending upon your need.  They will also answer any questions you have.

IF YOU HAVE A BABY . . .

. . . You are welcome to bring your infant into the Worship Center and/or Multi-Purpose Room for worship. However, if you would like to utilize our infant environment, we encourage you to take advantage of our supervised child care with skilled and loving caregivers, who have successfully passed a criminal background check.

AS YOU ENTER THE WORSHIP CENTER OR MULT-PURPOSE ROOM . . .

. . . Ushers are available to assist you should you have any questions, special needs regarding seating, and/or other general questions. Should special needs arise during the service, feel free to go to an usher to request assistance. Additionally, volunteers are stationed at our Connect Tables in the Contemporary Service (Multi-Purpose Room) to greet you and help you with anything you need.

DURING EACH SERVICE . . .

. . . We welcome our first-time guests. We won't put you on the spot or call you to the front, but rather we simply want a record of your visit so we can get to know you and pray for you. We will provide you with any information you request. Within any of our services we ask that you fill out a Connect Card found inside your bulletin. In the Traditional Services you can return your card as the offering plate is being passed around. In the Contemporary Service you can return your card at the Connect Tables located in the back following the service. As a first-time guest to Friendly Avenue Baptist Church, we want to show you our appreciation for visiting. Make sure you see either Dr. David Kees, Dr. Doris Henderson, or a volunteer at one of our Connect Tables (in Contemporary) to receive a FREE gift! Also, we would like to invite you to make a reservation on the Connect Card, found in your bulletin, for a FREE dinner with Pastor Pat on Wednesday, between 5:15 and 6:15 p.m.

OUR WORSHIP SERVICES . . .

. . . At Friendly Avenue Baptist Church offer three opportunities for you to worship. At 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. in the Worship Center we meet for traditional worship, which includes relevant life messages and a blend of hymns and contemporary praise songs that express our love and commitment to Jesus Christ. Friendly Avenue’s Worship Choir and Orchestra provide powerful, Spirit-filled leadership in the 10:45 worship hour in the Worship Center. Also at 10:45 a.m. we host a contemporary, band-driven celebration service in the Multi-Purpose Room of our Ministry Center, led out by Chris White and the various Praise Bands. In all three services, you can expect to hear relevant, faithful messages from the Bible, God’s Word, and uplifting music that will encourage you in your faith.
